What is the difference between vacancies and positions? Which do I select in the application form?

In the Vacancy Desired section, you will see all of the positions for which we are currently accepting and reviewing applications and anticipate hiring in the given year.  Some vacancies can be filled immediately and will have an identified closing date.  Other vacancies, such as those for teaching, paraeducator, and student assistant positions, are open for the entire application cycle. Submitting your application allows you to be considered for entry into the candidate pool for those positions. HCPSS does not post specific vacancies by school location. In the Position Desired section, you will see positions that may not be available to fill currently, but for which you can indicate future interest.
