My references told me they received more than one email. Must they respond to both?

If you apply for positions in different job categories, your references will receive more than one survey.  Though the initial emails they receive will be similar, it is important to open and follow the directions in both. The survey content is different depending on the nature of the position(s) to which you applied.

I am not yet ready to tell my current supervisors I am applying for new positions. How should I complete the references section?

A minimum of three reference surveys from your most recent supervisors is required for an offer of employment to be extended. A reference from a current supervisor is not needed unless a contingent offer is pending. If you have specific questions about your particular situation, please contact the recruiter named on the job announcement.

If I am a temporary employee, how often will I have to work to remain active?

Temporary employees are expected to work regularly depending on their program stipulations. Guest (substitute) teachers are expected to accept jobs regularly in order to continue as a guest (substitute) teacher. Temporary employees will receive reasonable assurance letters annually to express continued interest as a temporary employee.

What happens if I am selected as a temporary employee?

You will receive an email or phone call if your application is selected. The Office of Temporary Services will schedule an on-boarding session, send on-boarding documents, Fingerprinting Authorization form, and instructions on completing the background check process, which will include background check forms. A Fingerprinting Authorization Form will be provided by Human Resources to complete the fingerprinting process.
