Are pay, insurance and other benefits affected by an ADA accommodation determination?

An employee’s pay and insurance are not typically impacted by an ADA accommodation unless that accommodation results in a reduced schedule or a job change. An employee’s ability to remain in a paid status is determined based on the approved request and/or any available leave (earned or unearned).  during the respective pay periods in question.

Can staff who are nursing mothers be granted accommodation?

The Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023 (CAA), includes the PUMP for Nursing Mothers Act (“PUMP Act”), which extends to nursing employees the rights to receive break time to pump and a private place to pump at work.
